Localising systems is not a throwback to a primitive age, but a modern response to an out of control, global economy.
By localising those parts of the economy that can be localised we stand a chance of
- re-invigorating community life, making people, not formulae, the arbiters of our well-being
- giving people a taste of a different system
- making our systems far more resilient to coming global shocks
